Compass Whistlethe musings of two whirled travelers

Him has decided to give his notice tomorrow. I think he’s nervous.

“If you were a manager, would you rather be told your employee is leaving in the morning or right before you go home for the day?” he asked me tonight.

Hmmm. I didn’t know.

“I think I’m going to do it in the morning,” he said.

There’s a real chance Him’s manager will escort him from the building once he gives notice. He’s privy to sensitive company information, and it’s possible the manager’s manager will consider it too risky to keep him on any longer. This possibility has me pondering the obvious question: If Him’s given the boot tomorrow morning, will word spread quickly enough for the security guard to deny my access to the company’s swank gym at 6 p.m.? I’m packing my workout clothes just in case.
