Compass Whistlethe musings of two whirled travelers

Our trip will begin in Fiji.  Two weeks ago we purchased our tickets to Australia.  LAX->SYD by way of NAD (Nadi, Fiji).  We discovered these tickets because of the price, but we were intrigued by the layover.  Fiji.  Her remembered the scene in “The Truman Show” when Jim Carrey’s character said, “You can’t get any further away before you start coming back.”  That seemed like the perfect starting point for our journey.  After doing some research into what Fiji has to offer, we decided to architect a plane ticket with a 5 night layover.

Air Pacific makes this process very easy.  They have an option on their home page that says “Stopovers & multi-city”.  This let us buy our one way tickets from LAX to SYD and incorporate a 5 night layover directly from the website.  It really was quite easy.
